What is Disability Insurance?

Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if injury or illness prevents you from working, providing financial security for you and your dependents.

Plan Rules for Disability Insurance: 

  • Coverage through OneAmerica (Employee must be actively at work on the effective date.)

  • Short-Term Disability: Annual enrollment, no health questions every year. Does not offset for salary continuation, but will offset for workers compensation, or any other outside income.

  • Long-Term Disability: Annual enrollment, no health questions every year. Benefit is offset by any outside income (Social Security, sick leave, retirement, etc.)

  • The chart below is a sample of covered services. Please see the Plan Certificate for a detailed listing of services in their entirety.
